For the month of July, we welcome Emi Ohi Resnick as Artist in Residence to Gwendolyn’s Scales Flow as Gwendolyn takes a break.

Over the course of four sessions we will work through the A and D major scales of Carl Flesch. The three main focuses will be:
1. How to utilize the scales to achieve structurally sound intonation
2. How to build left-hand scaffolding to feel comfortable in any position
3. My extra add-on to the single-octave scales: how to train yourself to find to a note anywhere on the fingerboardLooking forward to getting some nitty-gritty housecleaning done!
Join Gwendolyn Masin every Tuesday for 30 minutes and learn a scale a week. Gwendolyn explains and applies an aspect of technique during every class in an accessible way. Gwendolyn will also spend a portion of time explaining how physical movement can help reduce injury and release unnecessary tension, so essential for liberating you as a player!
Come along, bring your instrument and a sense of curiosity as we proceed to connect those dots on the page. This is a playalong and there will be time for you to explore a scale and ask questions. These are all-levels sessions, though challenging, and particularly suitable for intermediate to advanced players.
Treffen Sie Gwendolyn Masin jeden Dienstag für 30 Minuten und entdecken Sie wöchentlich eine Tonleiter neu. Zusätzlich geht Gwendolyn jeweils auf eine bestimmte Geigentechnik ein und gibt Ihnen Tipps, wie Sie mit körperlicher Bewegung Verletzungen reduzieren und unnötige Spannungen lösen können. Spielen Sie frei auf!
Machen Sie mit, nehmen Sie Ihr Instrument in die Hand und öffnen Sie sich für neue Erfahrungen beim Spielen von Tonleitern. Diese halbe Stunde ist als Playalong gedacht und lässt genügend Zeit, die Tonleitern zu erkunden und Fragen zu stellen. Der Kurs richtet sich prinzipiell an alle Spieler, verlangt jedoch gewisse Kenntnisse und ist daher insbesondere für fortgeschrittene bis sichere Geigenspieler geeignet.
