When does music touch a human being? This is a key question in the work of Samuel Baur, freelance percussionist and head of a recording studio. The gift of being able to work with musicians from all over the world leads him to one of many possible answers: When there is an inherent groove in the music, a "swinging play, and the interplay between musicians in the range of microtiming" (Wikipedia). For an ensemble to swing in a striking way, another component is essential: the energy of each individual, and of the collective. Having studied different forms of energy work, Samuel is able to share practical approaches how we can actively shape these subtle but powerful layers.
